"Many believe Nueltin, a 120-mile long mosaic of water
and islands straddling the border of Manitoba and the Northwest
Territories, is the single best fishing lake in the
nation."
Charlie Meyers, Denver Post
Nueltin's Treeline Lodge is Manitoba's northernmost five-star luxury
fishing lodge, located just a few miles below the Northwest Territories
boundary. Treeline Lodge is known throughout the world as one of Canada's
top fishing destinations.
Every year fishermen from
around the globe travel to Nueltin to experience the quality trophy
fishing that Nueltin is famous for.
The lodge is nestled amongst arctic spruce and birch high on top of a
picturesque, park-like plateau overlooking 120 mile-long Nueltin Lake. A
royal view! Treeline is strategically situated one mile from where the
Thleiwaza River tumbles into Nueltin. "The rapids" offers a convenient
fishing hole for evening activity or for light tackle fishing anytime.
Treeline is also adjacent to dozens of secluded Northern Pike bays and is
only a short boat ride to the finest Lake Trout fishing in the world.
Treeline fishermen annually catch more 20 to 45 pound Trout than all
other Manitoba lodges combined and they do almost as well for the exotic
Arctic Grayling. But best of all though, is the Pike fishing at the lodge.
Top grade Pike habitat in Nueltin's countless back bays have produced more
18 to 30 pound Pike than are caught at lodges offering Northern Pike as
their main species.
Nueltin's Treeline Lodge limits weekly accommodation to 24 guests only.
Individual modern guest cabins are fully insulated and carpeted, and
include complete indoor plumbing facilities. The main lodge combines a
cozy lounge area and tackle shop with a family-style dining room. The
atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
Guests are awakened to the aroma of
fresh coffee delivered to their rooms every morning, followed by a hearty
breakfast served in the dining room. At 8:00 a.m. your guide will be
waiting at the dock to start your day of trophy fishing. At noon your
guide will prepare a scrumptious shore lunch on your own private sandy
beach. Return in the evening for cocktails in the lounge followed by a
delicious five course meal that our two chefs have prepared just for you.
After dinner, guests retire to their private, modern cabins, each complete
with washroom facilities and all the comforts of home.
Each day, while your expert guide takes you to his favorite fishing
spots, Treeline's trained, professional staff will clean your spacious
cabin and prepare a delicious dinner for your return from the lake.
All Treeline guests need to bring is their fishing gear, clothing and
personal items. Everything else is provided for you. Guests will fish in a
comfortable 16 1/2 foot Pro-Guide Alumarine boat specifically designed for
Nueltin Lake. The boats are equipped with comfortable swivel seats with
cushions, lifejackets, fish finders, nets, paddles, etc. We equip all of
our boats with brand new 25 h.p. Mercury motors every year. Guests will
find that only the best equipment is used on Nueltin and equipment and
facilities are all in top shape!
Treeline has a satellite telephone for guests who need to keep in touch
with home or office.
A fully-stocked tackle shop and store
is also available for that special lure or personal item you may have
missed bringing with you.
Treeline Lodge is a small operation with a staff of 24 that includes
guides, chefs, maids, and maintenance personnel and is managed full time
by owners Lois and Garry Gurke. Our experience in the hospitality business
combined with our personal commitment to the success of our operation,
guarantee you a successful fishing trip. A trip to Treeline will be first
class in every respect!
